(from the webservant)
For those of you who know me, you know I
have been very busy this year with the
relocation of my business due to the State
Highway Corridor D which is coming through my
business. This additional workload is
nearing an end. The last part of the
130,000 square feet being relocated will be
completed sometime next week. We are
already in our new offices. Stop by some
time and I'll show you around the new place. Last
year in the early winter, we lost the
website. When the last good backup was
restored, it turned out to be 6 months
old. For that reason, I lost 6
months of work on this site (12 issues). I
also lost about 50 hours of work on the Blennerhassett
site I do. This upset me, and broke my desire to
continue the sites. It also prompted me to
become my own web-host. Now, my websites
are on my computers in my business and I make
backups myself. In short, I can blame no
one but myself if something goes wrong again. Since
I am once again approaching a state of normalcy
in my business, and I am ready to get this site
cranked back up again. We lost a year, but
that doesn't matter. After all, what did
we have before March 1998 when we started
publishing this site. Stay
tuned. There's more, a lot more, to come... Craig

Alpha Course
We will be holding an Alpha Program this fall at Trinity. Alpha is
a “basic training course” in Christianity initially designed for
people who are “unchurched.” It can also be a refresher course for
any one who wish to participate. If you are interested, please sign up
on the bulletin board in Trinity Hall or see Father Hadaway. The
course last 10 weeks and will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. one
evening a week. The day the course will be held has yet to be
determined.

Important:
When Jesus commissioned His disciples, He said, “Go, therefore,
and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to
observe all that I have commanded you.” (Mt. 28:19-20) Jesus
expected those closest to Him to spread the Good News, for they
were the ones who had experienced it first hand. He asked that they go
to all the nations, thus including Gentiles into the previously
Jewish-only “family of God’. He asked the disciples to baptize
the new converts; and to teach them to abide by all that He had
ordained.
Now imagine Peter and John replying, “Gee, we’d like to Jesus,
but we have other plans. We’ll try to get to that by next year.”
Or Thomas and James saying, “All the nations? Are you
kidding?” That would be ridiculous of course, because the disciples
were well aware of the importance of their mission. Two thousand years
later the gravity of the mission is unchanged; we, as Christians, are
called to spread the faith, by the very indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
Excuses to not follow Christ’s instructions are as foolish now as
they would have been then.
Suppose a nation were to send its military into war without weapons
or training of any sort. It wouldn’t be hard to figure out who would
win the battle! Well, there is an ongoing battle that started
before the world was born; the battle between God and Satan. The “winner”
of this war receives our souls. Should we then, as Christians, allow
anyone to go “unarmed” into this fight? Of course not! Everyone
should be cloaked in the “armor of God”.
Jesus, the Master Teacher, shared many of His lessons by grounding
them in Scripture, and presenting them in the form of parables. These
parables were easily understood by the masses because they were rooted
in everyday life. The lessons were passed on to the next generations
in the same way. Without the luxury of the printing press, (and
without the basic ability to read) oral expression was the way to go.
Today, we still continue to verbally hand down many traditions and
teachings to our children. Our public education, however, allows most
of us to read and write. We now have the luxury of text books, videos,
etc. to help in passing on our faith; and Scripture remains the
backbone of our study.
If you are reading this, its pretty safe to say that you’ve heard
the Good News. Chances are that you are a member of the congregation
at Trinity (or another parish), a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, or
young adult. Guess what? It is your responsibility, as a
disciple of Christ, to see that every person you know hears the Good
News! Yes, we are all accountable for “wrapping” each other up in
the message of Christ.
I think I hear some gasps and perhaps some moans ! Well, do not
fear ! It’s not as hard as it sounds. Here at Trinity, the classes
are ready, from pre-school through adult ages. These classes have been
broken down as: the nursery for infants through three-year-olds,
four-year-olds through second grade, third grade through sixth grade,
and seventh grade through twelfth grade. And, don’t forget our adult
education class that meets at the same time as our other classes! You
don’t need to prepare or teach these classes. All you need to
do is bring the little ones, a friend, and of course, yourself!
Remember, excuses just won’t cut it with God…...
